DOING IT THE C.U.D.I.T.® WAY

The hitters below range in age, skill level, and the length of time being trained by a C.U.D.I.T.® Concentric Hitting Coach.  Since it is crucial to not overwhelm our hitters, C.U.D.I.T.® Concentric Hitting Coaches teach eccentric to concentric muscle movement then breakdown the details of hitting mechanics. Too often, coaches overload their hitters and do not train in muscle movement segments for their hitters to understand.  Most importantly, by teaching the WHY behind C.U.D.I.T.® Concentric Hitting, our hitter's train each mechanic to its highest level.  Drill Interval Training of C.U.D.I.T.® drills each mechanic piece by piece at the highest level. Phase One:  The key is to start with weighted balls and resistance bands after the hitter has learned all of the C.U.D.I.T.® Concentric Hitting Steps.  This will force the hitter to truly utilize their bottom half eccentric to concentric muscle movement.  

The hitter will work the negative motion load and positive motion weight shift in this drill.  The coach will pitch the weighted ball and the batter will drive the ball utilizing the power from their bottom half C.U.D.I.T.® Big Muscles.  It is important to reinforce the hitter's timing, control, and technique in the swing. An excellent  C.U.D.I.T.® WOTW to trigger in this drill is Aggressive.

Phase Two: Remove the resistance bands and replace the hitter's bat with a weighted skinny bat.  The hitter will start in their regular starting stance.  Coach will pitch a softball to the hitter to hit.  The hitter will have trained the bottom half eccentric to concentric muscle movement at it's highest potential from the previous drill.  This will allow for explosive bottom half momentum while the hitter focuses on hand-eye training as well.

This drill is excellent for hitters of all ages to work on timing, weight shift, hand-eye coordination, balance, extension, consistency, mental drive, and focus.

C.U.D.I.T.® Upper Core Isolation
C.U.D.I.T.® Weight Resistance 

This C.U.D.I.T.® Circuit focuses on the top half power position (power line) and extension using a few of our C.U.D.I.T.® Concepts.  It also targets the upper extremity and core eccentric to concentric muscle movement.  It is crucial to start with teaching the hitter the C.U.D.I.T.® Concentric Hitting Steps. Once the hitter understands the steps, the WHY, and vital areas to train, the coach can increase their level of training with our circuits.

Phase One: The hitter will balance on the yoga ball and isolate the top half split and core.  This will allow the hitter to focus on our barrel to ball and powerVx3 steps.  The hitter will work to remain stable on the ball since this can offset their swing.  The coach is constantly paying attention to detail in their top half and giving feedback using our C.U.D.I.T.® tone scale training and motivation system.

Phase Two: The hitter is still isolating their top half with their back knee being their point of balance on a yoga ball.  This will engage the hitter's core eccentric to concentric muscle movement.  The coach will side toss the ball (baseball in video) to the hitter who will work their top half split and powerVx3. The coach will constantly enforce mental focus and control during this drill with the WOTW.

C.U.D.I.T.® Balance & Core

This C.U.D.I.T.® Circuit focuses on core and balance while working on hand-eye skills with back hand and front hand isolation.  The key is to have the hitter work on the main task (barrel to ball) while keeping her core balance and stability.  

​Phase One:  The hitter will balance on a yoga ball to isolate their top half (C.U.D.I.T.® Concept of Isolation). The hitter will work with a back hand bat and baseballs for detailed, hand-eye training.

​Phase Two: The hitter will switch hands to train their front hand path to the ball. The coach must make sure that the hitter is bringing their bat to the power position prior to the release to create the upper extremity C.U.D.I.T.® Concentric release.

Phase Three: The hitter will swing fully with two hands.  At this point, the hitter may become tired.  It is the job of the C.U.D.I.T.® Concentric Hitting Coach to use our motivation system (Course One) to drive the hitter to remain clean and focused.  Also, freezing at the end of the swing helps to create clean mechanics throughout the swing when training.

C.U.D.I.T.® Balance & Core

This C.U.D.I.T.® Concentric Hitting Drill Circuit focuses on the core and upper extremity.  It is important to have the hitter focus on the main task (barrel to ball) while the coach uses the C.U.D.I.T.® verbal prompts to keep her clean.  

Phase One:  The hitter will balance with a balance ball on their back knee to isolate their top half (C.U.D.I.T.® Concept of Isolation).  The hitter will work with a skinny bat and baseballs for detailed hand-eye training.

 

Phase Two: The hitter will train their core for balance by standing on a balance beam.  At this point, the eccentric and concentric muscle movement of the core is trained at an elite level.  The core muscles must be contracted for balance before release.  This will trigger the hitter to enter her upper half power line.  Once the hitter is solid, the coach will drill the swing at a quicker pace and can prompt the mental toughness C.U.D.I.T.® WOTW, Control.

 

Phase Three: The hitter will swing fully while the C.U.D.I.T.® Concentric Hitting Coach reminds the hitter to use their eccentric and concentric loads.  Too often, coaches do drills with their hitters and do not remind their hitters of the power of the drill completed.  C.U.D.I.T.® Concentric Hitting Coaches verbally remind the hitter of the drills that they have the completed in the past so that the hitter remembers the importance of each skill mechanic being trained.

C.U.D.I.T.® is based on using classic, modern, and created softball/baseball mechanic training drills while increasing the level of intensity throughout the circuit targeting muscle movement mechanics.  This is programmed by all C.U.D.I.T.® Concentric Hitting Coaches.  All coaches that are NOT Certified C.U.D.I.T.® Concentric Hitting Coaches, must know each hitter's skill level and address accordingly.  The best results come from those who start with breaking down the swing with the 5 C.U.D.I.T.® Concentric Hitting Steps in a dry format.  During training drills and circuits, it is crucial to pay attention to the detail of the swing and the hitter's form.  Once the hitter is consistent in the initial drill that is presented, they will progress to a C.U.D.I.T.® Circuit with their C.U.D.I.T.® Concentric HittingCoach.  Personalizing every lesson is KEY with C.U.D.I.T.® for the betterment of the hitter and the clientele growth of the C.U.D.I.T.® Concentric Hitting Coach.
